2012 Visiting Fellows: Criminal Justice Statistics Programs: BJS is pleased to announce that it is seeking applications for funding for one or more BJS Visiting Fellows to work in its Criminal Justice Statistics Programs with existing BJS data. The overall purpose of this program is to support the scholarly use of BJS data collections, expand the body of policy-relevant research that uses these data, and enhance or inform BJS statistical programs.Under section 302 of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act, BJS is authorized to "make grants to, or enter into cooperative agreements or contracts with public agencies, institutions of higher education, private organizations, or private individuals" for purposes of collecting and analyzing criminal justice statistics.
