2014 State/Interstate Aquatic Nuisance Species Management Plan Program: The Aquatic Invasive Species Program intends to award funding for its 2014 State/Interstate Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Management Plan program in accordance with Section 1204 of the Nonindigenous Aquatic Prevention and Control Act. The Act directs the Service to provide cost-share grants for the implementation of State and Interstate ANS Management Plans (ANS Plans) that have been approved by the ANS Task Force. These ANS Plans identify technical, enforcement, or financial assistance activities needed to eliminate or reduce the environmental, public health and safety risks associated with aquatic nuisance species (also known as aquatic invasive species). The ANS Plans focus on feasible, cost-effective management practices and measures to be undertaken by the States and cooperating entities to prevent and control ANS infestations in an environmentally sound manner.
