2016 Work Zone and Guardrail Safety Training Grants: The FHWA hereby requests applications for assistance to result in the award of Work Zone and Guardrail Safety Training Grant cooperative agreements that would build on work already completed under the Work Zone Safety Grants Program. The purpose of this program is to award funding to qualified applicants to conduct training nationally for a wide range of workers on the prevention of injuries and fatalities in highway and roadway work zones; develop guidelines on work zone safety, operational issues, and best practices that will assist State and local government transportation agencies and other entities in improving work zone safety; and to provide training based on these guidelines.
