2019 Youth Corps Conservation Crew: Teach youth about inspecting and repairing boundary fences, using fence repair tools, techniques to remove invasive vegetation, repairing hiking trails, and installing campground food lockers. Youth crews will learn the importance of maintaining ecological integrity in the park by excluding non-native species like livestock from entering the park and preventing them from damaging natural and cultural resources, importance of controlling invasive plans, reducing conflict between wildlife and campers, and maintaining safe and usable hiking trails. Youth crews will help inspect from 4-8 miles of fence, clear vegetation along 1 mile of boundary fence, install 34 wildlife food lockers, repair a hiking trail, and remove Russian knapweed along the Mancos River.
