A Long-Term Seagrass Monitoring Program for Upper Laguna Madre, Padre Island National Seashore: This is a Notice of Intent (NOI) to award a non-competitive Task Agreement under the Gulf Coast, Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Master Cooperative Agreement (P12AC51051) in accordance with Department of Interior, 505 Departmental Manual 2.12C. The purpose of this project is to address the public purpose of monitoring seagrasses of Padre Island National Seashore. Seagrasses are vital to estuary function, providing food for grazing animals, structure for juvenile fish and other aquatic wildlife, and transpiration of oxygen into the water column. Ultimately data gathered under this project will improve park and the public understanding of submerged natural resources of the National Seashore.
