AETC National Evaluation Center: The goal of this Cooperative Agreement is to develop, test and disseminate methods and models for evaluating the impact of clinical education and training on provider behavior and clinical practice with respect to changes in knowledge and skills, clinical practice behavior and clinical outcomes. Historically, the evaluation of the regional and national AIDS Education and Training Centers (AETC) educational and training activities have focused on process measures such as collecting the number of participants and their demographics, training categories, topics and formats. It is important to gather these data and HRSA will continue to do so. HRSA intends that the National Evaluation Center (NEC) develop methods to evaluate the impact and effectiveness of the education and training activities carried out by the AETCs grantees. The HIV/AIDS Bureau is particularly interested in learning whether the training and educational services delivered by AETC grantees lead to sustained behavior changes among clinicians and improved quality of HIV care.
