Adolescent Family Life Demonstration Project (Prevention): The Office of Adolescent Pregnancy Programs (OAPP) of the Office of Population Affairs requests applications for prevention grants under the Adolescent Family Life (AFL) Demonstration Projects, as authorized by Title XX of the Public Health Service Act. These Title XX grants should clearly and consistently focus on promoting abstinence as the most effective way of preventing unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS, and the avoidance of other risky behavior. All pre-adolescents and adolescents under age 19 are eligible for services. Funds will be competitively awarded to approximately 10 projects, which may be located in any State, the District of Columbia, and United States territories, commonwealths and possessions.
