- The Political Section at U.S. Embassy Kabul is pleased to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the newly-launched Afghan Women's Empowerment (AWE) Grants Program. The AWE Grants Program provides $5,000-$50,000 grants for Afghan-led projects that increase women's participation in the political sphere. Grant proposals should meet one or more of the following AWE priorities: - Encouraging women's participation in Afghanistan's political realm -Increasing women's advocacy for legislative change -Raising women's awareness of their constitutional rights within Afghanistan's complex legal traditions -Promoting women's participation in and awareness of the 2010 Parliamentary elections -Developing women's leadership and advocacy skills Applications are accepted in English (preferred), Dari, and Pashto.
