Agricultural, Forestry and Fishing Safety and Health Research: NIOSH is soliciting applications to conduct agricultural disease and injury research. Programmatic emphasis will be placed on forestry and logging as articulated in two strategic goals (reduce the number, rate and severity of traumatic injuries and deaths involving hazards of forestry and logging; improve the health and well-being of forestry and logging workers by reducing occupational causes or contributing factors to acute and chronic illness and disease). While programmatic emphasis will be placed on these goals, applications are not restricted to these topics. Any application associated with occupational safety and health concerns in agriculture, fishing and forestry will be accepted.
