Agriculture and Food Research Initiative: Food Security: The Food Security Challenge Area RFA focuses on the societal challenge to keep American agriculture competitive while ending world hunger. In the Food Security Challenge Area RFA, specific program areas are designed to achieve the long-term outcome of increasing food availability and decreasing the number of food insecure individuals. Project types supported by AFRI within this RFA include single-function Extension Projects, multi-function Integrated Research, Education, and/or Extension Projects and Food and Agricultural Science Enhancement (FASE) Grants.
