- Grant Description
- The Office of Academic Exchange Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) announces an open competition for one to three assistance awards to provide administrative services for the FY 2008 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD Program). Public and private non-profit organizations meeting the provisions described in IRS regulation 26 CFR 1.501(c) (3) may submit proposals to cooperate with the Bureau in the administration and implementation of academic exchange activities for promising undergraduate students from underrepresented sectors of the population in the following regions: East Asia and the Pacific; Eurasia and Central Asia; and, the Western Hemisphere. For a list of participating countries by region, please see the Project Objectives, Goals, and Implementation document (POGI) that accompanies this announcement. Organizations may apply to administer the program in one or more geographic regions. However, organizations with less than four years experience in conducting international exchange programs are not eligible for this competition. It is anticipated that the total amount of funding available for all FY 2008 activities will be $8,000,000 and will involve the management of approximately 330 students.
