Grant Description
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications from eligible U.S. universities and colleges to serve as the Management Entity of an Aquaculture & Fisheries Collaborative Research Support Program (CRSP) as described in this Request for Applications (RFA). The authority for the RFA is found in the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961, as amended. A pre-application conference will be held by USAID to discuss the Aquaculture & Fisheries CRSP RFA and to address questions. All potential Aquaculture & Fisheries CRSP applicants are invited to attend.(See RFA for details) The award resulting from this RFA will be a Leader with Associates (LWA) Cooperative Agreement. The competition under this RFA covers the Aquaculture & Fisheries CRSP Leader Award which will provide leadership for worldwide activities performed under both the Leader Award funded by the Office of Agriculture (EGAT/AG) in USAIDs Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade (EGAT) and subsequent Associate Awards funded by USAID Missions, Washington Bureaus and other offices. The activities funded through the Leader Award will target the primary research and capacity building activities described in the Program Description (Section C) of this RFA. Associate Awards may target the primary and/or secondary research and capacity building activities described in Section C. Eligible applicants may choose to partner with other public and private entities such as other universities, colleges, companies, international non-government organizations (NGOs), and others with resources and relevant experience for conducting research, training and outreach activities, and implementing research results. However, the RFA is only requesting one institution to provide a Management Entity, as indicated in the application. The lead institution must meet all eligibility requirements described above. Subject to the availability of funds, USAID intends to issue a five-year award estimated at $8,900,000. Associate Awards are anticipated to be $3,000,000 over the life of the agreement for a total cumulative estimated amount at $11,900,000. USAID reserves the right to fund any or none of the applications submitted. Prospective applicants should note that there is no bias for or against the current Aquaculture CRSP ME to receive this award.
