- Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply. Eligible agencies of the Federal Government are eligible to apply. While the applicant institution must be domestic, foreign institutions may be involved as a consortium. For example, a project within an ACE Network may be located at a foreign institution and supported through a subcontract. Funding requests for foreign subcontracts must be made in U.S. dollars. Facilities and administrative costs on foreign consortia will be awarded at 8 percent of the total direct costs less equipment.
- Grant Description
- The Autism Centers of Excellence (ACE) program represents a consolidation of the Studies to Advance Autism Research and Treatment (STAART) and Collaborative Programs of Excellence in Autism (CPEA) programs in order to maximize coordination and cohesion of NIH-sponsored efforts in autism research. The focus of the ACE centers and networks will be on the causes and best treatment of autism (as listed in the Autism Research Matrix http://www.nimh.nih.gov/autismiacc/researchmatrix.pdf).
