BLM CA CESU California Youth Summits: For the past three years, the Bureau of
Land Management California State Office has sponsored four Youth Summits
for young adults working or interested in natural resource management or
closely related field. These summits involved BLM-California working
collaboratively with governmental agencies, non-governmental organizations,
youth organizations and other partners to strengthen and expand
opportunities for young people and their instructors. The Youth Summits
focused on possible careers with the BLM or other land management
agencies. The recipient will assist BLM-California on ways the agency can
strengthen and expand its partnerships with conservation organizations
serving young people and academic institutions that utilize the Educate,
Engage and Employ goals of the BLM-Washington Youth Strategy. In addition,
Secretary Sally Jewell has launched an ambitious initiative to inspire
millions of young people to play, learn, serve and work outdoors. For the
health of the U.S. economy and our nationâ¿¿s public lands, itâ¿¿s critical
that we collaborate and strive to establish meaningful and deep
connections between young people â¿¿ from every ethnic background and
community â¿¿ to Play, Learn, Serve and Work in Americaâ¿¿s great
outdoors. The recipient must have prior knowledge of the operations of the
Youth Summits.
