BLM-CO University/College Partnership on Public Lands: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been working with university and college partners on mutually beneficial projects on public lands for many years. BLM Colorado provides conservation and natural resource management opportunities by engaging university/college partners to perform a variety of recreational projects and activities on public lands. In particular, the Grand Junction Field Office of the BLM seeks a university or college partner for the purpose of conducting conservation and recreation management projects, to include, but not limited to, creating travel management plans, promoting safe recreational use, and offering or enhancing visitor services. This project will allow the university/college students to work alongside of BLM staff to implement and coordinate recreation resource management projects within the Grand Junction Field Office, with specific emphasis on National Conservation Areas (NCA) of McInnis Canyons and Dominguez-Escalante. Research and project opportunities may include all fields necessary to support the management of public lands and are also available during the school term as well as summer months. Through this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), BLM CO seeks to engage the university/college partner to perform a variety of research, natural resources management, and conservation-related activities on public lands. This FOA is being released prior to the passage of a Consolidated Appropriations Act for FY 2017 by Congress. Enactment of additional Continuing Resolutions or an Appropriations Act may affect the availability and/or level of funding for this program.
