BLM-MT Blackfoot Watershed Restoration and Enhancement, Missoula Field Office: Background: The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Missoula Field Office has the abilitiy to work with a partner on existing and new aquatic restoration projects. These projects will occur within the waterhed that drains the Blackfoot River Basin. Projects would include but not be limited to survey and designs, implementation, and monitoring. Objectives: Survey and design¬ streams and roads to facilitate the design of potential projects. Design stream channel, road, rad/stream crossings and weed treatments. Stream channel rehabilitation-construction and maintenance of aquatic habitat features, vegetation of riparian, wetland, and stream banks, weed treatments within rehabilitation project areas, enhancement of large wood in streams. Road work for aquatic improvement,¬ reroutes of roads to reduce confinement of stream channels and floodplains, road decommissioning, culvert removal and channel re¬construction, crossing structure upgrades. Project monitoring¬ photo point monitoring of project activities, measurement of channel and non¬channel habitat parametersto determine project success. Assessment of monitoring data to determine maintenance needs. Public Benefit: Conservation of aquatic resourses, imperiled aquatic species and improvement of water quality.
