BLM-NM Archaeological Museum Collections Management: The New Mexico State Office (NMSO)has a history of working with non-federal repositories for the management of archaeological collections from the public lands. These Bureau of Land Management (BLM) collections are important to non-federal repositories to help accomplish their mission goals, as well as providing the public to access BLM museum collections for educational purposes. Non-federal repositories house significant quantities of BLM museum property curated through Curation agreements associated with Cultural Resources Use permits issued by the BLM NMSO. Once at the repository, the collections are available for study and use by scholars and others, and for exhibition at the museum and at other venues through loans.
