BLM OR-WA Kettle and Sanpoil Rivers Subbasin Restoration, Spokane District: The Kettle and Sanpoil Rivers Subbasins support threatened, endangered and sensitive fish species and their habitats. These watersheds cross many jurisdictional boundaries including Federal, State and political subdivisions thereof, and those of private landowners. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) has carried out riparian habitat mitigation and restoration projects in these watersheds for many years. The BLM works cooperatively with WDFW on riparian habitat restoration, conservation, protection, and preservation projects throughout the State of Washington. Past efforts have included projects such as removing impediments to fish passages, riparian enhancement including plantings, road decommissioning, and instream wood placement.
The objective of this program is restore and enhance riparian habitats through watershed restoration projects in the Kettle and Sanpoil Rivers Subbasins of Washington State. Projects may include, but not be limited to, removal of impediments to fish passages, riparian enhancement including plantings, road decommissioning, and instream wood placement.
