BLM OR/WA: Rural Fire Assistance FY 2010: The Rural Fire Assistance (RFA) program provides funding to improve the capacity and capabilities of rural and volunteer fire departments (RFDs) that protect rural communities and play a substantial cooperative role in the suppression of wildland fires within, or in the vicinity of lands managed by the Department of Interior (DOI). Oregon Department of Forestry (ODF) solicited applications from rural and volunteer fire departments during spring 2010 and have notified successful applicants. ODF is now invited to submit a formal application for funding so that they may begin pass-through awards to selected rural and volunteer fire departments.
