BLM OR/WA - West Eugene Wetlands Youth Projects: Background: The BLM is interested in partnering with a recipient to provide youth with education and work experience opportunities, through conservation projects which will further their understanding and appreciation of natural and cultural resources. Natural resource enhancement projects, such as but not limited to invasive and noxious weed treatments, fuels reduction, wildlife habitat enhancement, and recreation site maintenance, will occur on public and/or private lands within the West Eugene Wetlands Project Area.
Objectives: The objective of this agreement is to provide youth the opportunity to connect with the natural world through the completion of various natural resource projects on public and/or private lands within the West Eugene Wetlands Project Area. These projects will enhance and conserve public recreation, wildlife, and plant resources while providing youth with positive work experiences, development of work skills, a sense of personal responsibility, encouragement for a long term community service commitment, and the potential for future employment in natural resource management. Projects may be performed year round with a majority being performed April through September.
