BLM-WO, Support for Cooperative Management of the North American Ornithological Conference (NAOC): BACKGROUND: The Bureau of Land Management seeks to support the North American Ornithological Conference (NAOC) which is held every four (4) years to improve coordination and communication between researchers, State, Federal, and non-governmental organization (NGO) entities that have an interest in, and are actively collaborating in, bird research and conservation on public and non-public lands. Conferences are essential to update and maintain information flow between partners so that common goals in conservation may be accomplished and understood.

OBJECTIVE: Cooperatively bringing together Federal, State, and NGO natural resource professionals, resource agencies, researchers, and conservation organizations to further the purpose of bird conservation and research in North America in support of State, Federal, an private wildlife agency conservation missions. Fulfill National and State needs in improving communication for management of publically appreciated avifauna.

PUBLIC BENEFIT: Information sharing on research and management of avifauna and habitat at the conference improves wildlife agencies' land management decisions and will provide the public enhanced experiences on public lands and enhanced opportunities to be more informed public stewards of resources for wildlife (birds) development and utilization.
