Bat Conservation: This is a Notice of Intent. The BLM Las Vegas, NV office intends to award to the Bat Conservation International for the purpose of providing general public education on bat conservation for users and managers of BLM lands, provide technical assistance and expert advice on issues such as bat surveys (i.e. in mines and caves, or in conjunction with wind energy development) and bat conservation measures for land management practices, conduct or fund needed research, particularly on methods to evaluate the reduce impacts of energy development and mine closure on bats, conduct meetings and stimulating research/education on bat management water related issues such as mortality in stock water tanks, and effects of loss of western surface waters, and assist in the funding of on-the-ground bat conservation projects.
