Biomarkers for Older Controls at Risk for Dementia (BIOCARD) Study Extension (U01): -Purpose. The purpose of this announcement is to solicit U01 cooperative agreement applications that will extend the clinical and neuropsychological follow up of individuals who have been enrolled in the Biomarkers for Older Controls at Risk for Dementia (BIOCARD) Study. -Mechanism of Support. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will utilize the U01 grant mechanism. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The National Institute on Aging intends to commit approximately $1.5 million dollars in direct costs in FY2009 to fund one application. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
