- Grant Description
- This project is intended to use and expand on modeling completed for the 2011 U.S. State of the Birds Report to quantify and display the distributions of bird species in relation to public lands, with particular emphasis on landbird species thought to be highly associated with habitats on BLM lands in the western U.S. These models will reveal which bird species the BLM (and other federal agencies) has a high proportion of the total species population, and therefore has important stewardship responsibility for their conservation
