Blood Pressure Measurement Technologies for Low-Resource Settings in the U.S. and India (U01): Hypertension diagnosis and management are critical needs in both the US and in India, and are areas that are ripe for technological innovation that would serve both countries, particularly in underserved populations. New technologies could be utilized in the design of new blood pressure measurement devices that do not require cuffs or expensive equipment, and that can be used by untrained individuals in their own homes or regional care settings. Affordable technologies for blood pressure measurement would make a substantial contribution to the improvement of hypertension diagnosis and management in both countries.
