Additional Information on Eligibility
The National AIDS Control Program (NACP) of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MoHSW) was chartered in 1987 by the United Republic of Tanzania to coordinate the health-sector response to the HIV epidemic on the mainland. NACP's mission is to reduce the incidence of HIV infection and its associated morbidity and mortality. NACP is a leading player in strategic partnerships with other public sectors, private sectors, civil society and communities. NACP also plays a leading role in the prevention of HIV/AIDS and mitigating its impact by overseeing essential interventions and quality care nationally. HHS/CDC has supported NACP since 2002 as it continues to improve and increase its capacity to coordinate the health-sector response to HIV on the mainland. In this next phase, NACP activities emphasize building the capacity of the Regional Health Management Teams (RHMTs) to oversee the administration of HIV services in their regions.
