PURPOSE OF PROGRAM: The Business and International Education (BIE) Program provides grants to institutions of higher education to enhance international business education programs and to expand the capacity of the business community to engage in international economic activities. The original official application notice was published in the August 27, 2003 edition of the Federal Register at the following url: http://a257.g.akamaitech.net/7/257/2422/14mar20010800/edocket.access.gpo.gov/2003/pdf/03-21950.pdf The Secretary reopens the deadline dates for the transmittal of applications for several competitions. All of the affected competitions are among those under which the Secretary is making new awards for fiscal year (FY) 2004. The Secretary takes this action to allow more time for the preparation and transmittal of applications by potential applicants from a county designated a disaster area due to the California wildfires. The extension and reopening of these deadline dates are intended to help the potential applicants compete fairly with other applicants under these programs.
