AFRL is soliciting proposals in Space-suitable Electronic Components and Responsive Systems Elements, subparagraph (2), specifically for radiation hardened embedded microprocessor developments that have: 1. single event error rates compatible with control processor functions (10-4 errors/day or better for the core circuitry / 10E-4 errors/day or better for the core circuitry), 2. a commercially supported tool chain, 3. a reasonable approach for marketing the product to potential users as Intellectual Property embedded into chips and systems, and 4) portability to various semiconductor processes, to include at least one source in the Trusted Foundry program.CALL 0002BSubparagraph 5 of Topic 3, Space Electronic Components and Responsive Systems Elements. AFRL is soliciting proposals in Space-suitable Electronic Components and Responsive Systems Elements, subparagraph (5), specifically in the area of; developing a power system modeling approach for variable input power and voltage, battery storage, conversion and regulation, and point-of-load analysis for both high- and low-voltage requirements.ANTICIPATED FUNDING (Topic 3, Subparagraph 2: Anticipated funding for this CALL (not per contract or award) is: FY 07: $500,000.00; FY 08: $500,000.00; FY 09: $500,000.00. This funding profile is an estimate only and will not be a contractual obligation for funding. All funding is subject to change due to government discretion and availability. ANTICIPATED FUNDING (Topic 3, Subparagraph 5: Anticipated funding for this CALL (not per contract or award) is: FY 07: $250,000.00; FY 08: $250,000.00. Proposals for any other technology area identified in the baseline BAA will not be accepted at this time unless a CALL for proposals in that specific area is open. ANTICIPATED TYPE OF CONTRACTS/INSTRUMENTS: The Air Force anticipates awarding Cost Plus Fixed Fee Contracts as a result of this CALL but reserves the right to award the instrument best suited to the nature of research proposed. ANTICIPATED NUMBER OF AWARDS: The Air Force anticipates awarding numerous contracts. However, the Air Force does reserve the right to make multiple awards or no awards pursuant to this CALL. ANTICIPATED AWARD DATE: on or about 8 Jan 2007INTENT TO PROPOSE: Potential offerors are requested to advise the contracting point of contact (by e-mail) if they intend to submit a proposal in response to this CALL.
