Centers for Excellence to Promote a Healthier Workforce: - The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), invites applications to establish Centers for Excellence to Promote a Healthier Workforce (Centers for Excellence). The purpose of the Centers for Excellence is to establish trans-disciplinary research, education and translation programs to facilitate the integration of health protection and health promotion in the workplace by taking a collaborative and innovative approach. - NIOSH intends to commit approximately two million dollars in total costs for this program. - NIOSH intends to fund one to three new awards in response to this RFA. - This funding opportunity will use the cooperative agreement U19 mechanism. - For-profit organizations, non-profit organizations, public or private institutions, units of state government, domestic institutions, and faith-based or community-based organizations are eligible to apply. Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply. - Any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research is invited to work with their institutions to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIOSH programs. - Only one application per applicant may be submitted under this announcement. - Applications must be prepared using the PHS 398 research grant application instructions and forms. The PHS 398 application instructions are available at http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/phs398/phs398.html in an interactive format.
