The Governor of each State has designated a State Administrative Agency (SAA) to apply for and administer the funds under BZPP. The SAA is the only agency eligible to apply for BZPP funds and is responsible for obligating BZPP funds to the appropriate local units of government or other designated recipients. The SAA must coordinate all BZPP activities with the respective State HSA.
Grant Description
Funding opportunity text description: The FY06 Chem-BZPP is a targeted infrastructure protection program that provides funds to build capabilities at the State and local levels through allowable planning activities and equipment acquisition. The grant is intended to develop effective preventive and protective measures that make it more difficult for terrorists to conduct surveillance or launch attacks within the immediate vicinity of high priority critical infrastructure and key resource (CI/KR) targets, and increase the preparedness capabilities of the State and local jurisdiction(s) responsible for the security and safety of the region and the surrounding communities. Projects or initiatives that are eligible for funding under this announcement may or may not involve Geospatial (GIS) issues.
