Connecting Southern Paiute Indian Youth and Elders to Traditional Homelands Project: Personnel from KBPI and NPS will collaborate on this project and is intended to stimulate youth education and elder involvement in cultural and natural resources, and motivate traditional practices among Southern Paiute tribal youth and elders, an identified underserved population. The project develops Paiute Tribe capability in providing these educational experiences in a remote or educational environment and integrates federal employees into the program to expose youth to potential career opportunities. Additionally, this agreement will enable tribal elders to educate the public in an unofficial capacity, to develop a cultural respect for traditional Southern Paiute lands.
