Conservation Workshops: The NRCS is seeking to support the efforts of natural resource conservation partners to promote public awareness of natural resource conservation related technology tools, and knowledge. The main focus areas are described below. Conservation partners are invited to apply for NRCS assistance to: 1) Conduct workshops and training that will help educate Georgias farm community, private landowners, conservation organizations, cooperating agencies and general citizenry on the conservation provisions of the new farm bill once the legislation has been enacted, and help implement late rate contracts. 2) Conduct workshops and training sessions that will educate Georgias farm community, private landowners, conservation organizations, cooperating agencies and general citizenry on the rules, purpose and general guidelines of the Wetland Reserve Program. 3) Conduct workshops and training sessions that will educate Georgias Equine farmers on conservation related issues that are unique to this industry. Workshop should incorporate the curriculum from the "Master Equine Management Training Program" developed by the Oconee River Resource Conservation & Development Council and available through the NRCS. 4) Conduct workshops and training sessions that will educate Georgias small scale farmer and limited resource farmers on conservation related issues that are unique to this segment of farm community. Workshops should incorporate the use of the Sustainable grower School curriculum developed by the Rolling Hills Resource Conservation & Development Council and available through the NRCS State Office. 5) Conduct a series of workshops to promote sustainable agriculture systems, particularly conservation tillage systems. Target audience and goal of the workshops is to educate land owners/operators and other land users of the importance of a sustainable agriculture systems. Program should promote the conservation and improvement of soil, water, air, energy, plant and animal life, and other conservation on Tribal and private lands.
