Additional Information on Eligibility: The CSIR has been mandated by the South African Parliament to direct and conduct multidisciplinary research, technological innovation as well as industrial and scientific development to improve the quality of life of the country's people. The CSIR is therefore required to transfer the knowledge generated through its research activities by means of technology and skilled people. The generation and application of knowledge reside at the core of the CSIR. This takes place in domains such as health and biosciences; the built environment; defense, peace, safety and security; materials science and manufacturing; and natural resources and the environment. The CSIR has been and is currently involved in a range of research activities aimed at deepening the understanding of TB air-borne infection in health care facilities. In addition, it has been actively developing training materials, guidelines and tools for minimizing the impact of the TB epidemic in South Africa (SA).
