- Eligibility is limited: Assistance will be provided only to national non-profit organizations (a national non-profit, tax-exempt (Section 501 (c) (3)). Eligible national organizations must have a web-based training and in person tutorials in clinical and public health informatics. These resources should have been established, fully operational, and deemed successful before application is submitted (see Background). Additionally, applicants are required to have an active national and international professional membership in informatics. Limiting assistance to national non-profit organizations is necessary to produce the maximum possible enhancement, given available resources.
- Grant Description
- The purpose of the program is to strengthen the breadth and depth of the public health workforce by providing training in public health informatics and encouraging new explorations of innovations at the intersection of public health and health informatics. CDC wants to partner with a national organization that is established as a leader in clinical and health informatics and with established tutorials and other training in informatics.
