Additional Information on Eligibility: Awardees funded under CDC-RFA-CE13-1307: NCIPC Non-Research FOA entitled “Cooperative Agreement for Supporting and Building Capacity of Core Public Health Functions Related to Injury Prevention and Control” Additional Information on Eligibility The Cooperative Agreement 13-1307 for Supporting and Building Capacity of Core Public Health Functions was previously a competitive FOA. Through an objective review process, 13-1307 was awarded to one awardee, Safe States Alliance (SAA). The Program has secured additional funds to provide technical assistance and training to injury partners, and would like to fund supplemental activities under 13-1307. This is not a new, independent activity, but fits clearly within the scope of the existing FOA to “Identify and respond to training and technical assistance needs related to violence and injury prevention by conducting one time and more systematic training opportunities and providing technical assistance.” The activities of the supplemental funding opportunity will ultimately lead to the FOA's long-term outcomes of increased implementation of violence and injury prevention policy and program strategies based on the best available evidence, and strengthened violence and injury prevention public health infrastructure. SSA is uniquely qualified to perform the programmatic activities required for success of this project. As a membership organization, Safe States Alliance has direct access to all State Health Department Injury Programs which will be critical to the success of this project. Through previous work with Safe States, they have demonstrated the needed experience, skills and resources to develop and implement a variety of training opportunities for state health departments and have demonstrated success in the planning and facilitation of vital partner meetings with the Injury Center for many years in support of injury and violence prevention activities. Safe States Alliance has developed and maintained an excellent working relationship with the Injury Center Core SVIPP and Evaluation Teams through their support and facilitation of multiple trainings, meetings and document development related to evaluating and advancing injury and violence prevention activities with state injury program partners. Safe States Alliance has been actively involved in the activities of the Regional Network (the target audience for the proposed project) as part of their previous and current work.
