Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Desert Southwest CESU: The USGS Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) is offering a funding opportunity for research investigating the vegetation response to environmental flows in the Colorado River and the greenup and evapotranspiration in the riverâ¿¿s delta in Mexico.

In spring 2014, a historic pulse flow, as agreed in Minute 319 of the 1944 United States-Mexico Treaty, was released into the normally-dry lower Colorado River channel with the purpose of inundating the active channel and some floodplain areas of the modern delta for ecological restoration and habitat development.
