Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Rocky Mountain CESU: The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research and stewardship activities that lead to the improvement, enhancement and accuracy of the Wyoming National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) by meeting any of the following objectives: 1. Create and foster relationships with entities identified as authoritative sources for the coordination research and stewardship (corrections, updates and additions to the dataset) of the Wyoming NHD. 2. Research and update missing features and identify and correct missing or misnamed Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) names on Wyoming NHD features. 3. Creation of event files that reflect research and stewardship activities that improve and enhance the Wyoming NHD. 4. Evaluate and correct the geometry of the Wyoming NHD for the improvement and accuracy of the dataset. 5. Research and develop tools for application, analysis and modeling using the NHD. 6. Provide documentation of "best practices" in the creation of event files and other research and stewardship activities in order to improve and enhance the NHD at the national level.
