Cooperative GIS Internships with the Resources Information Services Division: To collaboratively develop information systems and services based solutions to support the NPS Mission: â¿¿To preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.â¿ This mission is accomplished by broadly trained staff and partners who can identify and understand pressing social and environmental issues, human-environment interactions, collect and analyze relevant data, and develop and implement innovative solutions. These solutions increasingly rely on technology and information services which include geospatial sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), improved user experiences and interface designs, remotely sensed image analysis, spatial analysis and managing large volumes of digital media assets.
