Cooperative Multicenter Reproductive Medicine Network (U10): -The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the Office of Research on Women s Health (ORWH) invite investigators willing to participate, with the assistance of staff of NICHD under cooperative agreements, in an ongoing multicenter cooperative program designed to conduct clinical studies investigating problems in reproductive medicine, including infertility; gynecological disorders and diseases; diseases and disorders of the male reproductive system affecting fertility; and endocrinological disorders affecting reproduction. -The NICHD and ORWH intend to commit approximately $6.6 million in total costs [Direct plus Facilities and Administrative (F and A) costs] in FY 2007 to fund eight to ten new and/or competing continuation grants for clinical sites and one new or competing continuation grant for the data coordinating center. This funding opportunity will use the NIH Cooperative Clinical Research (U10) award mechanism. -Eligible organizations include domestic for-profit or non-profit organizations; public or private institutions such as universities, colleges, hospitals and laboratories; units of State and local governments; eligible agencies of the Federal government. -Eligible Principal Investigators include any individual with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIH programs. Foreign institutions are ineligible for this program. -A workshop for potential applicants will be held on March 23, 2006 in conjunction with the Society for Gynecological Investigation in Toronto, Canada. Additional Information on Eligibility
Foreign institutions are not eligible to apply. Eligible agencies of the Federal Government are eligible to apply. An institution may apply for both a Clinical Site and the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) grant; however, separate applications with different Principal Investigators are required for each. The DCC application must include a specific plan for maintaining the independent operation of each unit. Applications are welcome from both current members of the RMN (competing continuation applications) and from prospective members (new applications).
