Cooperative Partnership for Evaluating Wetland Conservation and Waterfowl Abundance: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) is the principal Federal agency providing information to the public and other agencies on the extent and status of the Nation’s wetlands. The Service’s National Standards and Support Team (NSST) is responsible for the development and application of all digital data functions relating to the Service’s wetland maps and habitat data holdings. Providing geospatial data, supporting data modeling and analysis capabilities in support of the Ecological Services function of the Service is a priority for this Team. Ducks Unlimited, Inc. (DU) is the world’s largest and most effective private waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization and has as its mission to conserve, restore, and manage wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl. DU has been actively involved in remote sensing and classification of wetlands since 1983. DU’s staff deals with emerging technologies in remote sensing wetland habitats, landscape change studies and geographic information science. Through collaboration, both organizations mutually benefit from technology and process developments.
