Cultural Resouce Investigations in Mojave National Preserve: Mojave National Preserve (preserve) is rich in cultural, archeological, and historical resources. In addition, the preserve will be initiating an enthographic study of the history of African American homesteading in the large, flat Lanfair Valley within the Preserve during the early 20th century. The preserve wishes to provide experience and training opportunities for professional development of young adults through historic preservation investigations, stabilization treatments, archeological surveys, site documentation, determinations of historic eligibility, national register nominations, and cultural anthropology within the preserve via a task agreement with GBI. The opportunities will provide valuable hands-on experience for early-career individuals in complex cultural resource stewardship and enhance the preservation of these resources for the enjoyment of the public.
