DRAFT - Request for Applications for Development Food Security Activities (DFSA) in Kenya: Pleasefind attached the draft Fiscal Year 2019 (FY 2019) Request forApplications (RFA) for development food security activities (DFSAs) inKenya for review and comments. The Office of Food for Peace(FFP) is not requesting the submission of applications at this moment. USAID/FFPis proposing a phased approach for this development activity in Kenya. The first 18-24 months willconstitute a research and collaborative design phase (Phase 1), with asubsequent transition to a systems-driven implementation and institutionalstrengthening phase (Phase 2). As part of this approach, a TechnicalSteering Committee, made up of USAID staff, DFSA staff, and Government of Kenyarepresentatives, will serve to provide strategic and technical direction to theDFSA(s) and to support the program objectives and outcomes throughout the lifeof award. Becausethis version of the RFA for Kenya is in draft and subjectto change, all potential applicants are strongly advised to wait for the finalversion before starting to work on an application. USAID reserves the right toadjust the number of awards, funding levels and sources of funding, given the budgetenvironment and other considerations. Applications are submitted at the risk ofthe applicant, and all preparation and submission costs are at the applicant'sexpense. Pleasenote that no USAID/FFP country backstop officers or field representativesshould be contacted in any way about information contained inthe draft RFA materials. As stated in the draft RFA,all comments and inquiries regarding this RFA should be directed to [email protected]. Commentson the FY 2019 draft RFA for Kenya are due on Monday, February4, 2019 at 12 pm (EST). However,please do not wait until the last day to submit your consolidated comments andinquiries. USAID/FFP is planning to have a stakeholder consultation while the Kenya RFA isin draft. The date and place of the stakeholder consultation session willbe communicated to interested applicants. The draft RFA forKenya is also available on the USAID website at https://www.usaid.gov/food-assistance/what-we-do/development-activities.
