DRAFT Sustainable Conservation Approaches in Priority EcosystemS (SCAPES): Updated 1/22/09: The full RFA is now available on www.grants.gov as RFA #: M-OAA-EGAT-09-470 RFA Questions Due: January 26, 2009 Date and Time for Application Submission: February 17, 2009 at 11:00a.m. EST USAID announces its intention to invite review and comments on a draft program description (PD) for a biodiversity focused Leader with Associates program under the working title "Sustainable Conservation Approaches in Priority EcosystemS (SCAPES)." This program is anticipated to be funded by the Office of Natural Resources Management, Biodiversity Team in the Bureau of Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade (EGAT/NRM/B) in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).This PD describes the proposed objectives, expected results and key elements of SCAPES. USAID plans to issue a Request for Applications (RFA) in coming months to accept proposals to implement the SCAPES program. The PD does not constitute an RFA. The Government does not intend to make an award on the basis of this request for comment or to otherwise pay for the information requested. Although "application" and "applicant" are used in this PD, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as an application.The PD was developed by EGAT/NRM/B. Your comments are requested to help finalize the PD and structure for the SCAPES program.Please send comments to [email protected] (note spelling: SCAPES_RFA) no later than 5PM EDST on December 11, 2008. At this time USAID will not be answering any questions related to the PD, or anticipated RFA. In addition, please do not contact USAID staff regarding this request or procurement during this comment period.
