Delta Smelt Individual Based Life Cycle Model: Improvement and Application: The purpose of the project is to improve the Delta Smelt Individual Based Model (DSIBM) and to use the improved model to analyze the effects of multiple environmental factors on Delta Smelt reproduction, growth, mortality, and movement. The improved model will also be used to evaluate the potential effects (positive or negative) of different long-term water operation scenarios for the Central Valley Project (CVP) and State Water Project (SWP). The model allows for quantitative assessments and predictions of Delta Smelt population dynamics under various environmental and operational conditions, thereby providing scientific support for developing and implementing management measures in the Bay-Delta for conservation and recovery of the Endangered Species Act listed Delta Smelt.
