Department of Defense (DOD) Fiscal Year 2005 (FY05) Prostate Cancer Idea Development Award (IDA): The intent of the Idea Development Award is to encourage innovative approaches to prostate cancer research from established prostate cancer investigators and established investigators in other fields who want to move into prostate cancer research. Proposals are sought across all areas of laboratory, clinical, behavioral, and epidemiological research, including clinical trials. All Idea Development Award proposals must include preliminary data relevant to prostate cancer research and the proposed project as well as a summary of the Principal Investigators research and professional experience in prostate cancer and/or potential for contribution to the field of prostate cancer. For FY05, the PCRP is offering, as an optional part of the Idea Development Award, funding for Nested Resident and Medical Student Traineeships to provide mentored research opportunities in prostate cancer. For FY05, the PCRP has a competitive continuation grant submission process for Idea Development Awards for submissions previously funded through a CDMRP program.
