Desert Southwest CESU (DS-CESU) Sky Island Alliance Single Source Award: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award one single source financial assistance agreement as authorized by 505 DM 2.14 (B) to Sky Island Alliance. The criterion for utilizing a single source financial agreement is ¿Continuation.¿ The activity to be funded is necessary for the satisfactory completion of, and is a continuation of, an activity currently funded by USFWS Region 2, Science Applications, and holding a competition would have a significant adverse effect on continuing or completing the activity. Sky Island Alliance was a key participant in the initiation of the three LCDs being developed by Science Applications and its partners, and led the initial stages of LCD development for the Madrean Watersheds, or "Sky Island" region of the southwestern United States. Sky Island Alliance is uniquely qualified due to prior knowledge of the project and significant participation in established working groups comprised of both USFWS and outside collaborators.
