Development of a Metabolic Simulator Computer Program for Prediction of Liver Metabolism of Xenobiotic Chemicals: The development and application of computer simulators of key metabolic pathways, with incorporation of reaction kinetics, is fundamental for scientists to accurately prioritize chemicals for toxicity testing and creating effective tools for risk assessments. A computer-based program is needed for simulation of chemical metabolism and bioactivation to determine primary metabolic pathways for toxic chemicals for important biological systems, such as the liver. The purpose of this cooperative agreement is to perform laboratory and theoretical studies for the development of a computational model to predict/simulate metabolic transformation pathways for organic chemicals in the liver and to prioritize competing metabolic reactions for toxic organic chemicals.
