Domestic Laboratory Biosafety for Ebola and other Highly Infectious Diseases: The purpose is to support APHL to develop a laboratory safety program for public health and clinical laboratories that provides:
- Access to subject matter experts on clinical and public health laboratory safety for infectious agents, including highly infectious agents like Ebola.
- Coordination of sharing of best practices among laboratories on safe handling and testing of specimens.
- Assistance to laboratories for assessment of training, facilities, and equipment for safe handling and testing of specimens for highly infectious agents like Ebola.
