- Grant Description
- The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), Mid-Pacific Region, intends to issue a cooperative agreement to the Round Valley Indian Tribes. The cooperative agreement will help the Round Valley Indian Tribes transfer water to a developing riparian corridor and develop a Drought Management Plan to protect and manage the Tribes groundwater resource. The objective is to provide water to riparian vegetation in the corridor through the installation of temporary drip irrigation lines; to expand the existing planting regime to provide better fish and wildlife habitat in the corridor; to develop and implement a comprehensive basin-wide groundwater management plan; and to provide a resource to the Tribe and Round Valley residents to make the most efficient use of their water resources. The projects will also meet the two basic directives in Public Law 102-250: 1. Transfer of water to a developing riparian corridor to minimize losses and damages resulting from drought conditions and provide better fish and wildlife habitat. 2. Development of a Drought Management Plan to protect and manage the Tribes groundwater resource.
