Grant Description
The purpose of this modification is to clarify technical goals and objectives, as highlighted in yellow in the attached conform BAA document, and to extend the due date for full proposals to 25 August 2008. The full conform DARPA-BAA-08-49 document is attached. The original solication notice is below. DARPA is soliciting innovative research and development proposals in the area of an integrated day/night sight. Proposed research should demonstrate the integration of an uncooled long wave infrared sensor (LWIR) (8-12 microns) with a sensor that operates in the Visible/Near Infrared/SWIR (VNS) (0.4-1.6 microns) spectral range and the integration of this combined day/night focal plane with the type of flat optics demonstrated in the DARPA MONTAGE program to realize a compact day night rifle sight system. Proposals will also be accepted that address only the VNS sensor. Specifically excluded is research and development that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of the art.
